Five reflection

　至誠に悖るなかりしか

Hast thou not gone against sincerity.

　言行に恥づるなかりしか

Hast thou not felt ashamed of thy words and deeds.

　気力に缺くるなかりしか

Hast thou not lacked vigor.

　努力に憾みなかりしか

Hast thou not exerted all possible effort.

　不精に亘るなかりしか

Hast thou not become slothful.
